Northern Avenger is a lot more of what you have come to expect from a DOA album. Punk Rock played hard and heavy filled with the dissidence of the last thirty years. There are a few tracks on the album that are a little more light hearted than what you may be used to. Like Donnybrook, which explains in detail how Hockey fights get started. And then makes you want to go find a fight just for the fuck of it. Police Brutality and The Machine Kills Fascists are trademark DOA tunes. They have fun playing with the different aspects of Punk blending some SKA and rockabilly vibes into some of the tracks. There is one thing that makes this album a bit more interesting than some of the other DOA albums over the years. For decades Joe and company have been clamoring for the fall of the establishment and now we look around and see the old rules crumbling into the seas around us. So now the Joe and the rest of us are on the verge of getting some of the things we've been screaming for all of this time lets hope we all make it a better place than what we found.
